Where can I find geometry proof games? We Answered:
Heh... this is the only one I know of:http://www.amazon.com/Geometry-Blaster-J…
but I was playing it back when I was in 7-8th grade, so something like 10 years ago...

Do I need to learn geometry and algebra to be a games designer or programmer? We Answered:
The simple and straightforward answer is YES.So much with computers is referenced by numbers that knowing how to manipulate them is a requisite for performing as a programmer. Depending upon the specific application you are developing, you may not perform much number manipulation - but you will be hamstrung and limited if you can not effectivley work with numbers.
As for being a game developer - graphical representation is all about numbers. While there are many tools now days that allow you to create the various graphical packages for games without actually mapping the various vectors - you will once again be hamstrung and limited without strong knowledge of geometry. Also, developing the actual code behind a game definitely requires number manipulation - so you will need algebra.

How can I relate geometry to casino games like craps, blackjack, texas hold 'em, and slots? We Answered:
A review session could be created where 6 or so students play roulette while the other students solve geometry problems. If a student answers incorrectly, that student will not be allowed to play that round. Respective orders will be maintained as to promote fairness. After a student wins the bet (roulette, blackjack, poker, craps), he/she will solve a problem. The student who has the highest chip count at the end of the class might receive a prize as an impetus to win. To win, that students needs to play well and solve as many problems as possible, therefore it is basically like playing a review game.Clyde Said:
What are some great geometry/math games i can play with my students in class? We Answered:
how about math jeopardy!!. i played this at middle school algebra class. the teacher made a whole list of math problems, for example 100pts for factors!! or 200pts for Quadratic. the winning team get some kind of prizeswe all in a team of four. so we all can solve the problem together . this is a good way to let the other students that dont really know how to do it by watching thier team members

Help with creating a game about geometry figures? We Answered:
Have a kind of chess board that is divided into squares. However, within each square, draw any 3d geometric figure. Intersperse these images randomly all over the board. For dice, instead of using the 6 numbers on each face, draw/paint the six geometric shapes that you have used on the board [if the latter are less than 6, repeat any on the dice]. You can have a 2nd die with regular numbers on it. A child [or a pair of kids] can roll the die together - one with image & one with number. The coin can be moved on the board for the number that has turned up, But Only on the squares that have the image on the die. eg. cube & 3 means the coin can be moved only on 3 consecutive cubes. Every child/pair takes turns. When it ids the first child's/pair's turn again, & if they throw up a cylinder & 4 this time, let them move their coin [which was on a cube] to the nearest consecutive 4 cylinders.Hope this makes sense?
A card game can also be played. How about "Matching Pairs"? You will need to prepare a set of playing cards that have the image of the geometric figures instead of the usual suit. You can have numbers, too, if you like. Mix & place face down. Each kid has to pick 2 cards & hope that they match. If they don't then the next player gets a go. Finally, the player who has collected the most number of correctly matched pairs wins.
You can also play "Musical Figures". Make cut-outs of each shape or draw the shapes on the floor/rug. Play music or invent a rhyme that has something to do with figures. Kids will keep running around. When music/rhyme stops, let them aggregate at any of the figure they like. Then, without looking, you will call out the name of any one geometric shape & all kids who have been "taking shelter" there, will be eliminated. Repeat, till only one kid is left - the winner.
You can also download templates of these figures [try sites like www.dltk-kids.com , enchantedlearning.com, etc. or just google for templates...] & have the kids draw the outlines, cut along the edges & then fold along the lines given, to create hollow boxes of respective shapes.
These can later be decorated in any way they choose & can be used for various purposes.
Also, when the box is finished, each kid has to quickly go and find a partner with the same shape. The pair that completes the box & pairs correctly first, will be the winner.
Hope some of these help?
Have fun :-)

Does I need to learn Trigonometry as well as Geometry to do games design / programming? We Answered:
The difference between a good programmer and a great programmer, is understanding what the code does, and that is understanding the mathematics behind the code.=
