how do you find the surface area of a tryangular prism?

Rosemary Said:

are those dummy books helpful?

We Answered:

Alas, as usual, there's no easy answer. The real answer would be something like "Some are, some aren't." When I was first trying to learn HTML I got 2 dummies books on the subject. One was worthless, IMO. I could not get one idea out of it. The other was a gem; it taught me everything I needed to know about writing HTML. You just have to check them out by looking at them in a bookstore. You will quickly discover whether that particular one is helpful to you or not. Good luck!

Algebra I and Geometry Question?

We Answered:

If you are an A student, then you are probably good enough to know what cost you marks and why you struggled. Did you make silly mistakes, or did you not see the concept. There is quite a difference.

If you make silly errors, then the way to overcome it is to drill, drill drill drill check, check, check, check until you are ready to throw up. One of the best students I ever taught could make a mistake like 2+3 = 6 and not see it. I don't think she could be bothered concentrating on the mechanics. She was making sure she understood the concept. She is now a pharmacist, so I really hope she's overcome the problem: I would hate to have her give me prescription that she calculated to be 60 mg when I need 50.

If you have conceptual problems, that's an entirely different matter, but oddly enough the cure is the same. Drill Drill Drill Drill Drill Drill and Check Check Check Check Check until you are ready to ...

Do not rush to get onto the next question. Ask yourself what the main things were that you had to do the problem. List them. Go very slowly. Great gobs of time have to be spent in overcoming these kinds of things.

But guess what?

What starts out as a conceptual problem soon dissolves and you see over the top of it and it appears to be simple.

I guess what I'm saying is that if you had some trouble go back and find out why and where. If you have to ask questions on this board. There are people here that have 49000 points which is just incredible. They've spent a tremendous amount to time helping people and they've refined their teaching skill so that they get to the point rather quickly.

Maybe they are teachers. Who knows? But they are awfully skilled.

Don't use Algebra I for dummies. Use the textbook you used for Algebra one. Algebra I prepares you for Algebra II. Geometry prepares you for Trig along with Algebra II.

What I really urge is that you not become discouraged. Grit your teeth and dig in. You will be very surprised at the rewards for doing it and heaven only knows what those rewards will be. I can only assure you that you will get them.

Take good care.

Geometry for dummies where could I get the torrent for this?

We Answered:

Instead if illegally downloading it, why don't you just check the local library instead? It's not illegal, you get a copy you can hold in your hands which makes it easier to work with (with math at least), and that's what a library is there for.

Failing that, go to Barnes & Nobles or a similar bookstore, where you can see the books, read it, do your homework in the store with that book, put it back, and you still aren't downloading illegally.

It's perfectly fine to use books in the bookstore for homework help. I've done it multiple times, and no one has ever had an issue with it.

Discuss It!
