Fractions... HELP!?We Answered:
You're not stupid, don't worry.15/46 can't be simplified any further. If it were 15/45, then it would be 1/3, but 15 and 46 have no common denominators.fractions help?
We Answered:
With adding and subtracting fractions, you need to have the same denominator (the bottom part), or you will not be able to add/subtract.Example:
5/6 + 2/3
1) Find the common denominator. 3 goes into 6, so you would need to multiply the second number by 2 to make the denominator 6.
5/6 +4/6
2) Add
9/6
3) Simplify
9/6 = 1 3/6 = 1 1/2

Help with fractions (Year 9 13 years old)?We Answered:
Ok.2/5 = x/10
This is called a proportion.
To solve this proportion, you can cross multiply of find a common number you can multiply to.
Easy Way(Common Number to Multiply)
how do you get from 5 to 10? you multiply by 2. --> 5x2=10 since you multiplied the denominator, you have to multiply the numerator by 2 also. what's 2x2 equal to? 2x2 = 4
so 2/5 also equals 4/10.
Hard Way(Cross Multiply)
2 x
_ = _
5 10
you multiply by crossing.
5 times x equals 5x AND 2 times 10 equals 20
5x = 20
you need to get the x all alone
to go that, you multiply by 5.
5x = 20
_ __
5 5
the 5/5 crosses out and 20/5 equals 4
so x will equal 4
ANY WAY YOU DO IT..... x = 4

i need help with fractions?We Answered:
To get rid of the fraction, you multiply both sides by 3 which cancels the 3 on the bottom. You end up with18n = 2(5n - 2)
18n = 10n - 4
8n = -4
n = - 4/8 or reduced, - 1/2
