Elementary math and reducing fractions? We Answered:
haha well some numbers are prime and other numbers do not share common factors, ie cannot be reducedwelcome to math!
try 3/9, 3/3 = 1, and 9/3 = 3, so that gives you 1/3
4/9 - you cannot do because 4 = 2x2 and not 3. nine not divisible by 2
get it?

What's a good book to learn fractions, percentages and elementary algebra? We Answered:
I really like the web-based program Aleks. The cost is reasonable (about $20 per month, cancel anytime), no textbook is necessary (the program includes the explanations). You choose your course. (I suggest prealgebra first and then algebra, you can change coursed at any time without any change in the cost.) Aleks will assess where you have learning gaps, assign you topics to learn, and continue to assess your progress. Each course includes assements and learning of topics of previous courses, since math builds on itself, and previous learning gaps are a significant source of difficulty for students. There is immediate feedback and comprehensive reporting of your progress. It works like your own math prep course, designed specifically for your needs. There is a free trial available, so you can see if it feels like something that might work for you. I have used it with my students and it has been very successful for them.
