Help with Quadratic Functions? 8th grade Pre Algebra?

We Answered:

You can not graph ax^2+bx+c. This is the standard equation of a Quadratic Functions. You just need to know that this will be a parabola. To find the axis of symmetry you do x= -b/2a.

Pre Algebra help!? Lesson 11: Graphing Linear Inequalities?

We Answered:

1.
y < 4x; (3, 0)
so x = (3) and y = (0)
0 < 4(3)
0 < 12 which is true
a)solution

2.
y > -x – 1; (2, -3)
so x = (2) and y = (-3)
(-3) > -(2) - 1
-3 > -3 which is false
b)not a solution

3.
y< 4x – 2; (-1, 1)
so x = (-1) and y = (1)
(1) < 4(-1) - 2
1 < -4 - 2
1 < -6 which is false
b)not a solution

How do I survive Pre-Algebra?

We Answered:

Lucky for you you're probably in middle school, and if you look hard enough you'll find a teacher who will sit down and help you.

Option 2: Work through it with family who knows it
Option 3: Find a smart friend and let them help you
Option 4:Tutoring

Read the book. Then re-read it. Then keep doing practice problems until your brain can determine the relevant patterns that make algebra work. The more you do it, the easier it will get. And trust me, it won't get any easier unless you're willing to work at it.

Email me if you're looking for any specific help, I am a math teacher.

What is the lesson objective? What age are the kids? How long is the class period? How many class periods do you want to spend on the lesson? How many students in the class? What is your background in teaching?

These will help figure out how to proceed.
