We Answered:

Relax, its easier than it looks. Dont stress.

A.)

p-8=5

Since -8 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by adding 8 to both sides.
p=8+5

Add 5 to 8 to get 13.
p=13

b.)

x-(-7.2)=9

Multiply -1 by each term inside the parentheses.
x+7.2=9

Since 7.2 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by subtracting 7.2 from both sides.
x=-7.2+9

Add 9 to -7.2 to get 1.8.
x=1.8

C.)

h-(2)/(3)=(3)/(8)

Since -(2)/(3) does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by adding (2)/(3) to both sides.
h=(2)/(3)+(3)/(8)

Simplify the right-hand side of the equation.
h=(25)/(24)

Virginia Said:

is this algebra 1 or 2 stuff? and whats the difference between advanced algebra 2 and advanced algebra 2 Honrs?

We Answered:

This is standard Algebra 2 content. The content listed in the first half is a review of Algebra 1 content but usually done in greater depth.

The "Advanced" label often is just an indication that it is more advanced than Algebra 1...

Honors will tend to treat the topics with greater rigor, speed, depth, etc., and homework problems will often be extensions of what was covered in class as well as ideas not explicitly covered in the class (stretch problems).

Without the honors designation, you would still cover the same topics but typically you would work less independently that in an Honors course. Homework mirrors what is discussed in class to a much higher degree.
